Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This is a key leadership role that requires strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance to the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS
- Conduct regular account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial records
- Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities to support strategic decision-making
- Coordinate the annual audit process with external auditors
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements
- Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, including training and development opportunities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's degree preferred)
- CPA certification strongly preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of GAAP and IFRS
- Experience in public accounting is highly desirable
- Proficiency in Restaurant 365 or similar accounting software
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
