Umami Express is currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding customer service and crafting delicious beverages in our bustling cafe environment. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve an array of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, with precision and consistency
- Take customer orders, offer recommendations, and ensure accurate entry of orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace, including brewing equipment and utensils, to uphold food safety standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks, such as assembling sandwiches or pastries, as needed
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting patrons warmly, addressing inquiries, and promptly resolving any issues or concerns
- Utilize upselling techniques to promote additional products and enhance sales revenue
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in customer service or food service roles is desirable
- Proficiency in basic math and cash handling skills for processing transactions accurately
- Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Aloha, is advantageous
- Strong time management abilities to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and collaborate with team members
- Basic understanding of food safety regulations and adherence to hygiene practices
