Ultium Cells Overview:

Ultium Cells, LLC. is a joint venture Lithium-ion automotive battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solution, Ltd., and General Motors. This high-technology plant is a new construction that will have the latest in battery cell manufacturing technology. This $2.3 billion investment will be among the largest battery cell manufacturing plants in the world. Ultium Cells will produce battery cells for General Motors’ North American electric vehicle applications.

Ultium Cells’ partners include LG Energy Solution, Ltd.; the world’s largest manufacturer of automotive battery cells, and General Motors; a global company committed to delivering safer, better and more sustainable ways for people to get around.

Responsibilities: 

•Review building systems, electrical storage capacities, etc.

•Troubleshoot electrical issues in equipment

•Implement and run a variety of projects while performing duties 

•Review installations and operations to stay aligned with safety and equipment specifications

•Provide support to the manufacturing department and assist in establishing electrical designs

•Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

•B.S. in Electrical Engineering preferred

•2-5 years of related work experience ideal

•Ideally have prior industrial electrician experience 

•Understanding of basic circuits and electronic schematic symbols

•Experience with BMS (Battery Management Systems) a plus but not required

•Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, presentation

•Able to work flexible hours occasionally to support team needs 

•Demonstrated teamwork and effectiveness in accomplishing goals
