Overview

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of systems and subsystems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) – Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Service-oriented Architecture (SOA) - in support of the government's mission.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical documentation including System Architecture and system design documentation.
• Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, andtechnology.
• Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations.
• Generate test documentation and perform system, subsystem, and depot level testing.
• Test and evaluation of systems pre and post deployment.
• Review and provide input to program work breakdown structures.
• Review and/or approve system engineering documentation.
• Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts.
• Maintain ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed.
• Establish and follow procedures for coordinating system integration activities.
• Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
• Interface with vendors/suppliers/partners to stay current on technology, understand equipment obsolescence, and make replacement recommendations.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, if required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field, or 5 years of additional systems engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• 14 years of systems engineering experience of telecommunications systems.
• Strong understanding of satellite communications systems, services, and operations.
• Demonstrated experience in planning and leading complex systems integration efforts.
