Job Title : EHS-Safety Process Specialist

Comp : $105-155K (depending on experience)

Location : St. Clair County, IL (on-site only)

Status : Direct Hire

Hours : Mon-Fri, Days

Responsibilities :

  • Lead PHA Process : Manage the Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) process, including training facilitators, conducting PHAs, and performing Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
  • Drive Compliance : Ensure adherence to PSM regulations, Responsible Care Process Safety requirements, and other relevant standards.
  • Promote Best Practices : Share PSM best practices, serve on the global Process Safety Council, and provide expertise in recognized engineering practices.
  • Collaborate & Coach : Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to provide coaching, training, and PSM support.
  • Ensure Training & Alignment : Align site procedures with corporate PSM programs, conduct PSM training, and participate in project reviews.
  • Lead Audits & Investigations : Lead / participate in PSM audits, incident investigations, and root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical, or related technical field.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in PSM and RMP, with expertise in process safety management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Audit experience in PSM and familiarity with regulatory requirements (OSHA PSM, EPA RMP).
  • Additional certifications such as P.E. registration, CHMM, CSP, CIH, or equivalent are a plus!

Additional Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with OSHA PSM, EPA RMP requirements, and state / federal regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, and EHS applications like Gensuite.
