Job Summary
Location: Onsite Houston, Texas
We are seeking a skilled Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and possess a strong understanding of legal procedures and documentation. The Paralegal will work closely with attorneys to provide support in various legal matters, including legal research, document drafting and reviewing, contract and case management, government registrations and reports, filing insurance claims, legal documents archiving, and communication with various business units. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to contribute to a dynamic legal environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in all aspects of in-house legal and compliance work
- Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles
- Draft and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and agreements
- Organize and maintain legal files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible
- Communicate with business unites, witnesses, and other parties to schedule meetings and interviews
- Prepare exhibits, evidence, and other materials
- Assist in the preparation of discovery requests and responses
- Review and summarize deposition transcripts and other case-related documents
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards
Requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or related field (preferred)
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent work experience
- Proven experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant
- Strong knowledge of legal procedures and terminology
- Proficiency in legal research using LexisNexis, Westlaw, or similar tools
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications
