UIC is Hiring a Visiting Senior Research Specialist - LALS Near Chicago, IL
Position Summary The Senior Research Specialist will implement qualitative research aims, methods, and analysis. Specifically, they will use archival methods, mass media analysis, interviews, and performance studies to document the suppression of artistic expression in Cuba and the birth and development of the San Ysidro Movement. The Research Specialist will also develop and teach courses on Cuban art in order to share results of the research with undergraduate and graduate students. Duties & Responsibilities
Develop objectives and design of research and data collection procedures. Conceptualize, initiate, and execute research goals for project.
Conduct literature reviews on Cuban art and social movements
Collect and analyze artistic expression of the San Ysidro movement
Collect and analyze mass media representation of the San Ysidro movement
Develop and implement study interviews, analyze results, and interpret results
Draft study presentations and present findings
Interpret qualitative data and prepare results for dissemination
Teach courses on Cuban art
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
