UIC is Hiring a Medical Office Specialist Near Chicago, IL

Position Summary
Provide office and administrative support to the Director of Revenue Operations. Assist with prior authorizations as needed. The position will report to 55TH & PULASKI HEALTH COLLABORATIVE.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist patients and referring providers both in the office and on the phone and direct patient concerns or questions to the appropriate party. Collect all co-pays and co-insurance and past due balances at the time of service whenever possible.
  • Verify patient eligibility and insurance before appointment. Obtain referrals and insurance authorizations before patient appointments. Maintains patient accounts by documenting and updating personal and insurance information required for proper insurance billing in Epic.
  • Provide patients with support and guidance as needed. Assist with all work ques including new evaluation, waitlist, no-shows, etc. Prepares and deposits monies, daily receipt log, and cash Reconcile all parking tickets and copays at the end of each business day. Assist with ordering office supplies.
  • Functions as a team lead of clinic front desk staff. Greet patients upon arrival and assist with patient check-in and check-out process. obtain insurance information and patient demographic information at the time of the visit. Schedule initial and follow-up appointments for physicians.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
