Position Summary
Solution and develop software applications within Technology Solutions; our central IT for UIC. Work collaboratively with Web/Mobile and UI/UX Developers to expose data via business logic, server scripts, and/or APIs for the Front-End team to utilize. Also, work closely with the DevOps team to maintain ongoing security, scalability, optimization, and server stability.
Duties & Responsibilities

Solution and develop software applications for the web and mobile platforms. Generate recyclable code libraries and frameworks. Attend regular meetings with UI/UX and other front-end teams to expose backend weaknesses and problems. Have the ability to construct specific functions of a given system. Participate in iterative prototyping with respect to project requirements. Collaborate on projects from initial concepts to launch, at both the unit and campus-wide levels

Conceptualize and implement data storage solutions. Work with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to preserve backups before any large changes to the server. Configure the backend usability of all front side applications. Build tools that improve internal productivity. Cross-collaborate with designers, front-end developers, PMs to optimize and maintain a quality UX. Stay informed about current trends in Web and Mobile technologies.

Provide support and maintenance as defined in the SLA. Ensure documentation and self-guides are developed for the applications worked on.

Lead the development, review, and implementation of related IT project plans, including engaging with stakeholders for requirements gathering and deliverables.

Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
