Responsibilities

 Mountain Youth Academy: Come make a difference in the life of a child and love what you do!! 

Mountain Youth Academy is centrally located near Johnson City, TN, Boone, NC, and Abingdon, VA. We are a 90-bed residential treatment facility and assist in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health issues for our young adolescent students. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for our Human Resource Department.

The Opportunity

The HR Generalist is a key member of the Mountain Youth Academy Human Resources Team who will provide support to the Director and the Recruitment/Retention Manager of the department.

Key duties for this roll are as follows:

  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
  • Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  • Collaborates with the human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Coordinates the employee onboarding process: Makes offer for employment; processes hire in applicant-tracking system; completes, analyzes, and tracks pre-employment requirements; ensures new hire meets employment requirements, enters new hire data into HRIS, and coordinates orientation training.
  • Processes applications for volunteers, interns, and student nurses; ensures regulatory requirements are completed prior to patient access.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field highly preferred.
    • 2 years of experience
    • Excellent data entry skills
    • An ability to intrepret regulatory expectations of the hiring process
    •  PHR preferred
