UHS of Delaware, Inc. is Hiring a FINANCIAL COUNSELOR Near ORLANDO, FL

Responsibilities

Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174-bed, private psychiatric center located in Orlando, FL. Central Florida Behavioral Hospital offers a full continuum of care including inpatient treatment services for children, adolescents and adults; and partial hospitalization, intensive out-patient and ECT services for adults.

Financial Counselor

The Financial Counselor works with patients/family members to secure payment of all self-pay balances including deductibles and/or copayment amounts, and maintains Upfront Cash detail report.

 Essential Job Duties:

  • Assist with Obtaining required income documentation and forms for patients who qualify for Charity/Indigent Care.
  • Makes necessary phone calls and generates letters to patients and/or family members for any self pay balances.
  • Takes an active role in attaining and maintaining accounts receivable and assists in reviewing/selecting accounts to be placed with outside collection agencies.
  • Secures patient valuables in accordance with the established Policy and Procedures.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency required.
  • Two years’ experience working in health care self-pay collections.
  • Ability to deal with diverse and stress related situations in a calm manner
  • Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Must have good organizational and computer technical skills and have the ability to set priorities.
