The UHS Corporate Compliance Department is hiring a Compliance Generalist to coordinate compliance and privacy issues at all UHS facilities in conjunction with and at direction of the UHS Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer (UHS CCO).

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct facility auditing and monitoring consistent with UHS Compliance Program to all Divisions and Business Lines of the Company
  • Conduct the annual, and periodic reviews of professional fee billing for all providers
  • Perform focused reviews of other specialty areas within UHS, and other special projects to include, but not limited to, assisting in the creation of specialty specific education sessions
  • Prepares materials, appropriate research and audit in order to conduct meaningful New Provider Education sessions
  • Performs comprehensive medical record reviews to ensure the presence of all required elements of documentation to reflect the services/treatment rendered to the patient
  • Performs focused medical reviews in response to internal/external allegations related to coding and billing compliance
  • Utilize audit results to provide data driven feedback to providers and managers
  • Performs systematic review of office processes, and outpatient records to ensure that documentation supports all billed services delivered by the providers
  • Review and analyze facility responses to ensure regulatory compliance. Prepare report memoranda of auditing and monitoring program results. Prepare trainings and other presentations for division operations leadership to review audit results, identified areas of opportunity and education on regulatory requirements, risks and guidance on implementation of compliant processes and procedures
  • Assist Compliance Administrator and/or Compliance Analyst with anonymous hotline complaints as determined by volume of operations and department needs as determined by department and company needs. Provide support of all compliance department operations and in support of UHS CCO, Director of Compliance & Privacy and/or Division Compliance Officers as determined by department and company needs

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 - 8 years' compliance experience.

  • CPC Certification Required or to be obtained within 3 months of hire
  • Experience in conducting coding and compliance audits of healthcare providers and processes
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of medical terminology, Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), and Payor/Medicare (Federal) requirements
  • Working knowledge of practice processes as it relates to physicians, and advanced practice practitioners
  • Experience in developing and making presentations to providers, leadership and employees
  • Strong communication, organizational, collaboration and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and interact with all levels of company employees
  • Experience with information systems conversions; excellent computer skills on various systems
