Mesilla Valley Hospital is currently seeking a Full Time Intake Registered Nurse (RN) to work Night Shift. Per diem opportunities are also available!
The Intake Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for screening potential admissions and determining an appropriate level of care to recommend to the physicians. This position interfaces closely with the medical staff, fellow department heads and administration, treatment team, external case managers, managed care organizations, and also functions as a liaison with other hospital departments. The A&R RN will also strive to meet performance measures of Walk-in triage time, Walk-in Disposition time; and e-fax time. It also includes answering all incoming calls and determining medical stability of walk in and direct admission patients.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required. Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric health care facility is preferred.
License: Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
Additional Requirements: CPR (AED) certification.
Skills: Working knowledge of the mental health field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
