UCLA is Hiring a Manager, Program Management Office Near Los Angeles, CA

Strategy, Planning, and Operations leads and manages a large and complex portfolio of IT projects and programs while establishing partnerships and stakeholder engagement efforts with students, faculty, staff, and external partners on behalf of the IT organization. The Strategy, Planning, and Operations Office also manages organizational initiatives and efforts, including general administrative functions, financial management and budgeting, vendor management and licensing, billing, internal communications, department human resources, talent management, and culture development.
The Enterprise Program Management team operates as a centralized, strategic IT function that works with IT executives and key university decision makers to facilitate the strategic alignment, planning, prioritization, and value realization of all enterprise-wide IT projects, programs, and portfolio planning and management activities.
The Manager, Program Management Office will oversee IT project managers for enterprise initiatives, programs, and projects. The Manager, Program Management Office will be accountable for effective program delivery from a team of IT project managers and analysts within UCLA's Enterprise Program Management Office (ePMO). The Manager will be accountable for team's development as well as the standards that are used across the overall program, ensuring that program sponsorship, strategy, scope, schedule, and budget targets are defined and achieved. This will include delegating projects to project managers, assisting project managers will accelerators, tools, and standards, coaching project managers on effective PMO activities, and providing resource management for project management support. In alignment with the business and Portfolio Management, the Manager will develop and implement a consistent project management approach that promotes business value, innovation, customer satisfaction, alignment, priority, resource management, risk management, methodology, compliance, and key performance indicators. This role will manage highly collaborative business relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders in alignment with organizational strategy and business objectives. Importantly, the Manager, Enterprise Program Management Office will be an enthusiastic change agent who manages ambiguity and influence in a federated organization.
The Manager, Program Management Office will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling IT projects and programs in service of the university's academic mission. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.

Required/Preferred
Five years of experience working in one or more of the following fields: project management, information technology, data services, application services, IT service management, or related field.

Two years of experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

Advanced knowledge of and experience using technical project management principles, theories, and concepts. Mastery of best practices within the project management discipline.

Significant experience working in a project-based environment using leading project management practices including schedule management, status reporting, and communication of project risks and issues.
