UCLA is Hiring a Manager, AV/IT Solutions Near Los Angeles, CA

The Digital Spaces Department manages physical and virtual classrooms, specialized learning environments, and other learning environments (e.g., conference spaces, dormitories, dining halls, etc.). This team makes sure all spaces on campus are suitably equipped with functional and innovative technology that meets the needs of the educational experience and enables the world-class teaching and learning for which UCLA is internationally recognized. Members of this department also manage the installation and long-term management of display technology across the university.
The Manager, AV/IT Solutions will oversee the architecture and design of technology solutions in UCLA Information Technology-managed learning and digital spaces, including classrooms, lecture halls, conference rooms, live event spaces, and digital signage. By leveraging data analysis, the Manager will identify user experience trends and strive to deliver cutting-edge technology, data, and service designs catering to faculty, students, staff, researchers, and visitors. Furthermore, the Manager will ensure the responsiveness of the AV/IT solutions team to a diverse customer base, effectively designing, tracking, managing, escalating, and resolving customer issues. Building solid partnerships within the UCLA ITS organization and fostering a culture aligned with ITS values are integral to this role. In this role, the Manager, AV/IT Solutions will be a key driver in elevating UCLA's technological capabilities, enhancing the learning experience, and ensuring that UCLA remains at the forefront of innovative AV/IT solutions.
The Manager, AV/IT Solutions will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enhancing the digital learning environments and interactive spaces that support the University's academic mission and community engagement. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.

Required/Preferred
Five years of experience working in one or more of the following fields: information technology, AV/IT, management, customer service, higher education, or related field.
Required
Knowledge of network-based AVIT solutions with emphasis on cloud, server, and software-based solutions, with successful track record of implementation at scale.
Required
Proven ability to deliver and support large-scale audiovisual information technology (AVIT) solutions, with ability to adapt this experience in a distributed teaching and learning environment.
Required
Experience adhering to ITIL-based methods.
Required
Extensive experience with hardware, software, and network systems in support of complex AVIT solutions. Possess deep understanding of audio and visual signal flow, signal processing, and system design.
Required
Experience providing frequent performance coaching/mentoring and encouraging effective behavior for individual and team success.
Required
Ability to articulate a strategy that motivates others to action.
Required
Ability to articulate AV IT design standards and processes to technical as well as non-technical audiences.

Knowledge of data transmission protocols and transmission standards.
