UCLA is Hiring an Assistant Director/Creative Content Lead Near Los Angeles, CA

The Student Affairs organization spans the entire range of student needs and interests from early outreach through graduation, housing, physical and emotional well-being, recreation and student organizations, and a host of other services and opportunities in between.
The Creative Content Lead plays a leadership role in managing and developing creative content for UCLA Student Affairs across multiple platforms and a range of multimedia productions focused on student life, including podcasts, photo and video production, documentary-style content, and more, all designed to be cross-platform. The Creative Content Lead has organization-wide scope and impact and will interact with diverse staff and students across the university environment both physical and digital. This individual will play a critical part in using creative media to showcase the impact of Student Affairs across the campus community, designing content for an array of audiences including staff, faculty, students, and external constituents.
Housed in the division of Student Affairs Administration under the direction of the Executive Director of Communications and Organizational Development, the Creative Content Lead acts with a high degree of autonomy, working in the Student Affairs Media Studio to produce high-quality content, attends various events and student activities as needed, and has significant responsibilities related to ensuring the Student Affairs website content remains current, engaging, and informative. The Creative Content Lead is expected to act in the manner necessary to build effective relationships and strategies across a highly complex organization with high visibility.

Required/Preferred
1. Minimum 5 years full-time professional video producing and editing

2. Demonstrated ability to maintain and operate studio and video equipment, including cameras, microphones and lights.

3. Demonstrated ability to edit to completion at a high standard in Premiere Pro. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, After Effects and other motion graphics tools

4. Knowledge of lighting, staging, audio and other production considerations to ensure content quality is suitable to a leading academic institution.

5. Demonstrated ability in content designs, including creating training tools and providing training to staff utilizing multi-platforms.

6. Demonstrated written and oral communications skills to communicate effectively and diplomatically with a diverse group of students, faculty, administrators, staff and community groups both individually and in group setting.

7. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues.

8. Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects at different stages in the process, anticipate shifting demands and respond gracefully to changing priorities.
