UC Davis Health is Hiring a Hospital Unit Service Coordinator Near Sacramento, CA

Department Description
The Cardiothoracic Progressive Care Unit is a 24 bed unit. The nurses on this unit manage the care of patients post cardiac surgery, post thoracic surgery, and a small population of patients who have a diagnosis of stoke. The nurses also care for selected patient on mechanical ventilation, as well as other acute care specialty patients who require an intermediate level of nursing care.

Responsibilities
This position is responsible for performing reception and clerical functions for the nursing station; coordinates patient care activities with other departments to include programming and answering call lights, arranging transport services for transporting patients to other areas of the hospital, ancillary services, stocking supplies and forms, doing audits, and functions related to admissions, transfers and discharges of patients.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a similar setting
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Ability to utilize medical terminology appropriately

  • Math skills to add, subtract, and multiply whole numbers and decimals, and to understand metric measurements

  • This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
