Summary
Joining the Secret Service, Security Management Division will allow you to provide administrative support for the operation of the Security Services Program. Duties
The selectee will serve as a Security Specialistin the Security Management Division. Typical work assignments include:
  1. Entering, extracting, and tracking routine data in various databases.
  2. Communicate with multiple stakeholders to ensure awareness of proper procedures for handling, storing, and securing classified and sensitive information.
  3. Assisting senior specialists in the preparation of reports and analytics of program and security operation metrics.
  4. Providing administrative support and assistance to supervisors, managers, employees, and senior security specialists in the implementation of program goals.
  5. Participating in the monitoring of various visual and electronic access control systems for access to facilities, materials, and information by agency personnel, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Minimum Qualification/Specialized Experience requirements as noted below
Minimum Qualifications:
You qualify for the GS-07 level (starting salary $55,924.00) if you possess one of the following:
GS-07: Applicant must possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
  1. Performing administrative tasks (e.g., maintaining records or distributing personnel access credentials) to support program operations;
  2. Compiling information to draft reports for stakeholders on security program functions; and
  3. Interpreting federal investigative standards, security policies, procedures, or regulations to research security or investigative issues.
OR
You have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, AND meet one of the following provisions of Superior Academic Achievement: 1) Maintained a grade-point average of "B" (a GPA of 3.0 or higher) as recorded on your official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; 2) Maintained a grade-point average "B " (a GPA of 3.5 or higher) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; 3) Rank in the upper one-third of your class in the college, university, or major subdivision; 4) Be a member of a national honor (other than freshman honor societies) recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies. Please submit a college transcript(s) showing your grade point average for all four years of undergraduate study, including all transferred courses. NOTE: GPA's are to be rounded to one decimal place. For example, 2.95 will round to 3.0 and 2.94 will round to 2.9. If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail or similar basis, your claim must be based on class standing or membership in an honor society.
OR
You have one full year of graduate level study, in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. NOTE: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
OR
You have combination of some specialized experience, but less than one year; and you have some graduate education but less than one year as described in the paragraph above. However, you have a combination of specialized experience and graduate level education that when combined, equals at least 100% of the total requirement.
NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible.
Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
