U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is Hiring an Administrative Support Assistant (OA) Near Philadelphia, PA

Duties

  • Prepare accident and injury reports within appropriate time limits, in accordance with established methods, assuring that needed information is available.
  • Prepare travel orders and travel vouchers, requisition forms, as needed, in accordance with supply/procurement and travel needs of Office personnel.
  • Maintain records of all timekeeping data such as timesheets, leave reports, overtime requests, and payroll corrections.
  • Utilize different automated systems to maintain and coordinate flow of information between offices, other agency offices and outside vendors or contractors.
  • Work with supervisor/foreman to order fuel and set up for ordering, and checks on the payment status.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Selectee may be subject to a one year probationary period.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Selective Placement Factor: Must have skill of a qualified typist (Type 40 Words per Minute).
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1.) Utilizing automated systems to prepare documents or correspondence; AND 2.) Schedules training and develop announcements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-5).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
  • Clerical
  • Computer Skills
  • Customer Service (Clerical/ Technical)
  • Facilities Reporting and Record- Keeping

How You Will Be Evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

Basis for Rating: Qualified candidates will be assigned to one of three quality categories: Best Qualified, Highly Qualified and Qualified. Veteran preference eligibles are listed ahead of non-preference eligibles within each quality category.

  • Best Qualified. Candidates in this category possess exceptional skills and experience to exceed well above the minimum requirements for the announced position.
  • Highly Qualified. Candidates in this category possess good skills and experience above the minimum requirements for the announced position.
  • Qualified. Candidates in this category meet the minimum experience requirements for the announced position.
You may claim Priority Placement Program (PPP) preference.
DoD Priority Placement Program (PPP) Applicants will receive preference consideration at the full-performance grade level only.
Only MSP/PPP applicants currently occupying a formal training program position are entitled to exercise their priority status.
Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP).
