TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is Hiring a Bookkeeper Near Hamilton, NJ

The Bookkeeper works closely with the General Manager and Franchisee to help support financial operations by performing accounting services related to preparing, analyzing, maintaining and reviewing various financial statements, records and reports at the franchise utilizing QuickBooks (QB) software.

Responsibilities
  • Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
    • Daily accounts receivable processing; receipting customer payments and building deposits in QB
    • Accounts receivable collection efforts
    • Daily accounts payable processing; review vendor invoices/check requests for accuracy, record in QB
    • Process check runs for vendor payments
    • Corporate credit card(s); match receipts to statement and review for business purpose, import transactions into QB
  • Management of Payroll
    • Enter and process payroll
    • Assist with human resources management in conjunction with Home Office and/or outside counsel
    • Manage employee payroll files
  • Contact Management and Vendor Relations
    • Review vendors and track metrics/standards
  • Month End
    • Perform month end close, including month end folder with supporting schedules for all reconciliations, etc.
    • Monthly reconciliation of all sub-ledgers (cash, AR, AP, Fixed Assets, etc.)
    • Monthly reconciliation of trial balance with support schedules/documentation
  • Monthly Financial Review and Analysis
    • Responsible for analysis of financial statements including trends and variances
    • Responsible for communications regarding financial statement results, as well as participation in meetings and discussions as to results
  • Budget
    • Create, maintain, and communicate budget
    • Responsible for monthly analysis of budget to actual results and corresponding communication
    • Responsible for working with various departments on budget results and plans
  • Bank Transactions
    • Monitor daily bank transactions
    • Complete monthly bank and credit card statement reconciliations in QB
  • Process and Policy Management
    • Assist in the development of programs and processes for the franchise in conjunction with results and goals of the franchise
  • Additional Monthly Tasks
    • Review and monitor tax return filings, payments, and correspondence
    • Coordinate with outside accounting firm as needed
    • Report on tax status regularly
    • All other duties as assigned by the General Manager or Franchisee
Requirements
  • A minimum of an associate’s degree in accounting, business or finance is required, or combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience required
  • Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial accounting standards
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger and related accounting systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently
  • Successful problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with accounting/bookkeeping software (QuickBooks)

Pay range: $17-$20 DOE The HR & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for tracking grassroots, recruiting, ATS, and continuing to grow our relationship with marketing opportunities. The HR & Marketing Coordinator will complete the monthly scheduling of the marketing/intern team and enforce all TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® system standards and procedures to provide excellent service to our customers

Responsibilities

  • Promote and protect the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® brand and ensure the delivery of excellent customer service.
  • Assist staff with managing all recruiting listings and budgets

o including online, print, google, really, etc.

  • Interview candidates and oversee interview process
  • Administer all aspects of the Applicant Tracking system
  • Help schedule and attend job fairs
  • Monthly reporting of recruiting levels and training status
  • Data entry of employment information, training completion
  • Direct recruiting grassroots plan and marketing grassroots plan
  • Assess marketing opportunities and target markets
  • Develop, implement, and review marketing plan, track marketing plan goals
  • Assist with development of PR calendar
  • Attend networking events and trade shows
  • Acts as the first point of contact for new and existing customers to establish a rapport and build confidence in TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® services
  • Asks open-ended, probing questions to determine customer requirements and expectations
  • May participate in various marketing activities including networking, direct mail and charitable move coordination

Requirements

  • Must be proficient in the following Microsoft applications:

o Excel

o Word

o Outlook

  • Education - Minimum 2 yr. Associates Degree and/or minimum 6 months experience within the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® system
  • Mathematical skills - ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, using whole numbers and decimals.
  • Excellent oral and written comprehension and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
