Description

Manage the daily accounting processes for Accounts Receivable Income Audit and Payroll. Compiles, reviews, reconciles, prepares and analyzes entries to facilitate the bookkeeping function. Assists with the month end inventory process and other reports to ensure information is correct for timely financial statements.
ORGANIZATIONAL SCOPE
The position performs the functions of Accounts Receivable Income Audit and Payroll. Also will cross-train into Accounts Payable and General Cashiering. Encouraged to make recommendations, suggest financial control changes and report SOP and procedural violations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Sort and verify accuracy of Night Audit work including reconciliation of banquet check disbursements, promotional checks, miscellaneous revenue, and exemptions and to ensure back-up is present.
• Prepare and maintain various daily reports after rolling the day including audit pack and GM pack content.
• Post city ledger payments in PMS system, reconcile and bill all city ledger accounts. Process city ledger adjustments as needed.
• Prepares and emails invoices with proper backup within 48 hours of checkout.
• Follows through on the collection of payment from groups and guests to ensure accounts receivable is current.
• Assist with month end as needed including inventory tracking.
• Review hourly records for missed punches, missing lunch and hours worked.
• Process bi-weekly payroll.
• Assist Controller and Director of HR with additional duties as assigned.
• Maintains files in good order so as to facilitate subsequent review.
• Perform cash count on the banks of cash handling employees at least once a month on a random basis.

Qualifications

Education
A two or four year college degree (Accounting preferred) or equivalent education/experience.
Experience
1-2 years of previous progressive Accounting Experience, preferably in full service resort/hospitality. Previous F&B, Rooms, Spa and Residence experience will be an asset.
