General Function: Under the direct supervision of the Property and Facilities Director in harmony with the Christian Values and purpose of this Association and in accordance with the polices of the Association, the Maintenance Tech. I will be responsible and accountable assisting in the following areas of Maintenance, Housekeeping, Security, Landscaping and Grounds keeping of our YMCA.

Know How: The Maintenance Tech. I must demonstrate a personal commitment to the mission of the YMCA. He/She must set the example for others to follow. Good communications skills (written and verbal) are essential, along with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with people as part of a team. This position requires hands on trade skills as well as good organizational skills, strong human relation skills, good understanding of business procedures, ability to adapt to a changing environment, and knowledge of the YMCA operational procedures and programs. He/She must be able to promote programs and services of the YMCA. Have a working knowledge of operating computers, dress professionally to fit the task, friendly, and exhibit good health habits. The ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, volunteers, members and guests is essential.

Principle Activities:

• Work closely with the Property Director and Facilities Director to complete all maintenance and housekeeping work orders.
• Assist in overseeing the entire site to ensure that the YMCA facility is operating at peak efficiency, displays a beautifully clean facility, well maintained landscaping and grounds, and a safe and secure environment for everyone on site.
• Work with volunteers to achieve goals and objectives of department, and create volunteer opportunities.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and follow through on ideas of contributed volunteer driven site improvements, and collaborative efforts.
• Attend meetings when requested.
• Participate in fundraising events.
• Maintain current CPR, First Aid and AED certifications
• Participate in delivery of services to members to ensure excellence.
• Create a positive environment where everyone feels welcome, and encourages and motivated others to become more involved in the YMCA.

Accountability: The maintenance Tech. I will report directly to the Property and Facilities Director. He/She will be responsible assisting with the developments and implementation of the maintenance activities, housekeeping activities, and facility security, landscaping and grounds services.

Position requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent and at least one year of Technical School or documented equivalent of on the job training.
• He/She must be able to operate in a safe manner, the use of hand and power tools.
• Working knowledge of: Measuring devices, pumps and motors, carpentry skills, commercial plumbing systems, electrical knowledge, minor HVAC experience.
• Most importantly, have the ability to troubleshoot and follow through to completion any given maintenance task.
• Be able to work in concert with outside contractors in the completion of specialty projects/tasks.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evenings as needed
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
