SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining and repairing the machinery, plant equipment, tools and systems used in manufacturing, shipping and other production processes as well as light facilities maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)
Performs preventive maintenance procedures on a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical and pneumatic equipment and production systems.
On call for all machine failures and works timely to diagnose issues and get machine back running.
Responsible for all machine implementations, diagnostics, leveling, aligning, commissioning, etc.
Manages and sees through with all machine upgrade projects.
Installs necessary safety guarding and continuously monitors machine safety and improvement.
Uses knowledge of fabrication and machining to make parts and repairs, including use of lathe, milling machine, welder and other available tools and resources.
Collaborates with local machine shop or other vendors in order to make more complicated repairs, spare parts, or new machine builds.
Responsible for ILC's lamination roller inventory, sending rollers out for grinding, recoating, and tracking roller life and failure reasons.
Maintains maintenance work log and work orders, tracking costs and labor.
Responsible for general facilities maintenance, replacing light fixtures, air filters etc.
Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
Maintains safe and clean work environment
Works with Manufacturing Manager to reach production goals and objectives.
Makes daily transactions in SAP as needed.
Report Worker's Comp. incidents to Human Resources.
Bring employee issues and concern to the attention of the Manufacturing Manager and/or the Human Resources Director.
Perform other related duties and/or special projects as assigned.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Operates all types of forklifts.
Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as the ability to multi-task and work independently or in a team environment.
Computer proficiency: Basic to Intermediate PC skills, Windows, Microsoft Excel and Word and Internet use to navigate and search how to look up different sites and get specific information.
Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization as well as customers and/or vendors.
Must be able to remain focused on the daily tasks of the job as specified above in order to maintain overall accuracy, meet daily deadline requirements, and meet overall performance expectations of the job.
Have comprehensive knowledge of quality assurance principles, methods, design, testing and implementation.
Excellent project, planning, change and time management capabilities.
Efficiently communicate both verbally and in written form.
Possess good judgment and decision making skills
Understanding of flow manufacturing, Lean Manufacturing, and 5s principles
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, technical or associates degree preferred; knowledge of machine control principles, wiring, and ladder logic PLC programs preferred, plus experience in manufacturing environment. Must also possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a maintenance capacity.
Must possess valid Driver's and Forklift licenses.
