Title: Assistant Buyer

Location: Washington, D.C.Salary: Competitive salary and benefits package based on qualifications; classified as full-time salaried; exempt and not eligible for overtime.

Position Overview

Tuckernuck is seeking an Assistant Buyer to support our third party buying strategy, open to buy process, business analysis, purchasing, flow of goods, team relationships and vendor communication. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to self-motivate and drive initiative, while having a deep understanding of our brand and customer. He or she will be an extremely efficient administrative professional who is detail oriented, deadline driven, highly organized, flexible and reliable. This person will have great follow through and the demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment where teamwork is key.

Core Responsibilities:

• Manage internal product creation, UPC imports, and purchase orders for Buying Director in tandem with Buying Coordinator
• Mentor and train Buying Coordinators
• Set up new vendor contacts & payment terms, collect and support input of UPCs/EANs pre-delivery of goods
• Review and present reorder opportunities through analysis of inventory and OTB
• Review and maintain Buys by Category accuracy through image and product information auditing
• Input information for weekly meetings with Buying Department and Marketing Department for Director of Buying to review 
• Send formatted selling reports on weekly or bi-weekly basis and maintain list of vendors receiving reports
• Check order confirmations for accuracy as orders are submitted to vendors and communicate issues when necessary
• Track cancellations and execute in system and trackers
• Review live PDPs and work with Merchandising team to provide pertinent information regarding products to support sales and gather important product information where needed from vendors
• Manage market process accuracy and efficiency
• Support Buying Director through shelling and setting up orders as assigned
• Learn and manage buying process from start to finish on select assigned brands on seasonal basis
• Maintain vendor relationships by responding quickly and accurately to both internal (company) and external (vendor) questions and requests for information. Research problems & provide creative solutions
• Assist in daily tasks to support the senior management of the third party Buying Department
• Identify inefficiencies in current processes and suggest new and productive solutions and recommendations
• Work cross functionally with Merchandising, Marketing, Logistics, Operations, Production, Sample & Styling teams when necessary

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 1 years of related experience
