Additional Details:
Call from end of shift to next morning once a week. Call from end of shift to 1900 once a week. Weekend call every 5-6 weekends.
Required Education: Diploma of Nursing.
Preferred Education: BSN
The Cardiovascular Operating Room is a subset of our Main Operating Room, consisting of 3 open heart rooms, 1 cardiovascular/thoracic robot room and 1 hybrid room.
In the hybrid room, CVOR staff assists with endovascular repairs of thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms and acts as standby for procedures done by the Cath Lab and EP Lab.
CVOR staff is highly proficient in complex and specialized cardiovascular surgical procedures including CABG, mitral/aortic valve repair/replacement, heart transplants, balloon pumps, Impella insertions, LVADs, RVADs, ECMO, ascending aortic aneurysms, minimally invasive procedures, and robotic heart/chest procedures.
Patients are high acuity and often have many co-morbidities.
