The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the VP, Marketing, is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing and leading our enterprise marketing strategy and operations and TrueCar dealer & marketing solutions. This role is responsible for developing and implementing the overall marketing strategy to drive business growth, brand awareness, and customer engagement for TrueCar, as well as, creating and executing public relations and communication strategies that support our company's business objectives. This is a key leadership position that plays a critical role in shaping TrueCar's brand image, driving customer acquisition and retention, and ultimately contributing to our organizational success. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, leadership, and marketing expertise to develop and execute effective marketing strategies and solutions that achieve business objectives.

How you'll contribute to TrueCar's success:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the company's business goals and objectives.
  • Oversee brand positioning, messaging, and visual identity across all marketing channels and touchpoints.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the marketing department, including budgeting, planning, and resource allocation.
  • Lead customer acquisition efforts through digital marketing, advertising, content marketing, and other channels.
  • Develop strategies to retain and engage existing customers through loyalty programs, customer relationship management (CRM), and customer experience initiatives.
  • Work closely with product management to develop and execute product marketing strategies, including product launches, pricing, and positioning.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats.
  • Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics and KPIs, and use data-driven insights to optimize marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, product development, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment and integration of marketing efforts and revenue growth with overall business objectives.
  • Communicate marketing strategies, plans, and results to executive leadership, board members, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop strategic messaging to ensure the TrueCar story and our community come to life externally in compelling and creative ways that strengthen TrueCar's reputation as a leader in our marketplace and build awareness and understanding through strategic brand positioning, industry thought leadership and media relations.

Your Expertise:

  • Progressive business and leadership experience
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive business growth.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Experience leading public and media relations for a publicly-held company.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Deep understanding of marketing technologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience in B2B and/or B2C marketing preferred.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Base salary: $188,000 - $288,000
