True Oil LLC is Hiring an Environmental Specialist Near Casper, WY

Summary

This is a full-time position that is responsible for developing and applying environmental regulatory technical expertise and assisting with the implementation of environmental policies and procedures and mitigation of environmental risk. This includes work aimed at achieving and improving compliance through short- and long-term environmental plans and programs for multiple companies and locations. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Applies knowledge of current environmental regulations in order to assist in the full range of remediation projects, audit programs, and state and federal air, water, and waste management programs. This includes primarily regulations of the various Rocky Mountain States regulatory agencies: Environmental Protection Agency; Department of Transportation including the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration; Oil and Gas Commissions; and other State agencies (i.e., WYDEQ, MTDEQ, NDDEQ, CDPHE, etc.) that pertain to environmental protection.
  • Remains abreast of current environmental regulatory requirements that apply to all of the True companies.
  • Assists in developing and implementing, maintaining, and updating environmental compliance programs including environmental training, inspections, and reporting associated with the exploration, drilling, production, and transportation of oil and natural gas and agricultural operations.
  • Prepares and files permit applications and reports such as environmental sampling, groundwater monitoring, stormwater construction, SPCC plans, waste management, spill reporting, remediation activities, air permit applications, compliance certifications, and emission inventories, as approved by the supervisor. Strong familiarity with air quality permitting desired.
  • Arranges for sampling or conducts own sampling, prepares bids and reports, and assists with spill clean-ups. May be required to serve on-call and work extended hours in case of environmental emergencies. Follows up on potential enforcement-related matters.
  • Assists in maintaining written contingency plans and submitting regulatory notifications, providing accurate and timely work to appropriate agencies.
  • Travels regularly to outlying work sites, working closely with field supervisors and employees to inform and promote compliance with company programs and policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Works with company safety/environmental personnel to help develop in-house programs and policies to comply with environmental quality standards, industrial practices, and new developments.
  • May assist in implementing intercompany safety programs.
  • Participates in company safety meetings.
  • Prepares presentations for industry events, environmental or regulatory purposes, and for supplier, customer, management, or employee meetings.
  • May be required to represent the True companies before associations and agencies to provide comments on regulations.
  • Works with management, operations personnel, consultants, contractors, and government regulators.
  • Applies courteous and professional communication skills and demonstrates a high level of integrity in handling confidential information.
  • Balances multiple field and office responsibilities and provides regular status reports to supervisor. Applies good organizational skills in prioritizing tasks.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in an environmental field, engineering, earth science, or other related discipline with three (3) - five (5) years of experience in environmental/regulatory compliance, program implementation, risk identification, and project management (including field experience with operations personnel, regulators, consultants, and/or contractors); or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Optical Gas Imaging Infrared Thermography Certification.
  • Must reside in central Wyoming and have the ability to travel.
  • English language fluency, verbal and written.
  • Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check, and drug/alcohol test.
