Job Summary:

TriSMART Solar is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Solar Site Surveyor to join our renewable energy team. The Solar Site Surveyor will play a crucial role in the initial assessment and planning of solar energy installations. This position requires strong technical skills, a deep understanding of solar energy systems, and the ability to gather precise data to ensure the successful implementation of solar projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Assessment: Conduct on-site visits to potential solar project locations to assess the feasibility of solar installations. Evaluate factors such as solar exposure, shading, roof condition, and structural integrity.

  • Data Collection: Accurately measure and record site-specific information, including roof dimensions, shading analysis, and electrical infrastructure. Use specialized equipment and software tools to gather data.

  • Solar Design Support: Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to provide essential information for the development of solar system designs. Ensure that designs meet local regulations and codes.

  • Shading Analysis: Perform shading analysis to identify potential obstructions that may impact solar energy generation. Use software tools to create shading diagrams and optimize system performance.

  • Roof and Structural Assessment: Assess the condition of roofs and structures to determine their suitability for solar panel installation. Identify any necessary repairs or reinforcements.

  • Documentation: Prepare detailed site survey reports and documentation that include all relevant data, photos, and site-specific considerations. Ensure that reports are accurate, organized, and readily available to project stakeholders.

  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and regulations while conducting site surveys. Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner, and report any safety concerns or incidents.

  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with clients and project managers to provide updates on site survey progress, findings, and any necessary adjustments to project plans.

  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with industry best practices, technological advancements, and relevant regulations in the field of solar energy to enhance surveying techniques and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

  • Previous experience in solar site surveying, construction, or a related technical field is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of solar energy systems and photovoltaic technology.

  • Proficiency in using surveying tools, including GPS equipment, digital cameras, and shading analysis software.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations related to solar installations is a plus.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to project sites.
