Commercial Roofing Estimator/Project Manager

Under the general direction of Executive Management and the Operations Manager, the Estimator/Project Manager prepares estimates for commercial roofing work. They are responsible for synthesizing estimates into the appropriate format for each bid. They understand and follow all safety policies of the company, and help with the implementation of the policies by ensuring that other team members understand and follow them as well.

Responsibilities:

• Independently search for appropriate projects to bid on.
• Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for commercial roofing projects.
• Communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure accurate cost estimates and manage changes and adjustments.
• Submit bids and budgets by the deadline without exceptions.
• Cultivate customer relationships to win profitable repeat business.
• Obtain a thorough understanding of the scope for each specific job that is bid.
• Coordinating with the Superintendent during project closeout and ensuring all necessary documents are compiled and sent.
• Visiting job sites regularly to track progress and anticipate any potential issues.
• Keep track of job costs every week.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED, with an Associates Degree preferred.
• Previous construction estimating experience, preferably in commercial roofing.
• Thorough understanding of commercial roofing system design, installation, and code compliance.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to accurately follow instructions given by supervisors as well as follow written instructions and specifications.
• A valid drivers license.
• Ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs occasionally.
• Willingness to undergo criminal history background check and annual motor vehicle report.

Salary and Benefits:

• Starting salary at $70,000 - $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
