Tres LA Group is Hiring a Line Cook (Full-Time, Mon-Fri, Day-Time - No Weekends or Holidays) Near Playa Vista, CA

Are you seeking a steady 40-hour weekly schedule with daytime-only hours? Do you have a passion for learning about different international cuisines on a daily and weekly basis? Would you thrive in a structured, collaborative team environment? Join our team of culinary professionals at a world-renowned tech company in the heart of Playa Vista, and enjoy nights, weekends, and holidays off, as well as competitive wages and other great benefits!We are currently seeking experienced line cooks to join our full-time kitchen team at our corporate dining location!What we're looking for:

  • Excellent culinary and line cook skills
  • Knowledge of international cuisines
  • Strong familiarity of different sauces, ingredients, and world spices
  • Ability to keep up with daily-changing menus
  • Proficiency with different types of protein cuts
  • Utilization and knowledge of knife cuts performed in a fast, efficient, and safe manner
  • Familiarity of different and unique cooking techniques
  • Excellent multitasking skills, time management, sense of urgency, and teamwork
  • Ability to swiftly move throughout the café and kitchen
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation in the workplace
  • High volume production and large batch cooking experience
  • Ability to handle kitchen equipment and tools safely

Responsibilities

  • Production according to recipes/directions
  • Cut and clean a variety of fruits, vegetables, and proteins using a knife and/or cutting machines
  • Follow production sheets, portioning, and merchandising details as instructed by Chefs
  • Follow all recipes and guidelines while meeting production deadlines
  • Taste all food prepared for station to ensure flavor, freshness, and quality
  • Maintain a clean and organized station and prep area
  • Maintain kitchen equipment
  • Follow proper rotation and storage of goods
  • Follow safety and sanitation procedures with all guidelines from OSHA, Department of Public Health and Risk Management
  • Produce consistent quality food products using recipes designed by world class chefs

Education and Work Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Culinary Degree (preferred but not required)
  • Minimum 4 years line cook experience

Work Environment

  • Fast paced kitchen
  • High sense of urgency
  • Moderate to high noise level
  • State of the art kitchen and equipment
  • Positive teamwork mentality

Requirements

  • Must have and maintain an active ServSafe/Food Handler's Card
