Class Title: Groundskeeper
EEOC: Maintenance Technicians
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Summary of Position
Responsible for maintaining the groundskeeping of all district facilities.
Organizational Relationships
1. Reports to: Groundskeeping Team Leader and Maintenance Manager.
2. Directs: None
3. Other: Has contact with other employees, consultants, and with the general public.
Examples of Work
Essential Duties
1. Mowing, weed eating, edging, blowing, pruning, and tree trimming.
2. Performs groundskeeping work to support a district-wide schedule.
3. Operate a variety of groundskeeping equipment including hand and power tools.
4. Perform minor repairs and maintenance of field equipment.
5. Responsible for the safe operation of tools and equipment.
6. Ability to load and unload trucks and trailers.
7. Maintain and utilize personal protective equipment.
8. Safely operate district vehicles.
9. Perform related tasks as assigned.
Other Duties:
1. Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
2. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Stand and operate grounds keeping equipment and tools for extended periods. Lifting and carrying items up to 75 lbs. Kneeling, crouching, digging, climbing, bending.
Acceptable Experience and Training
High school graduation, or its equivalent. One year of experience in groundskeeping operations.
Certificates and Licenses Required
Texas driver's license.
