THE OPPORTUNITY:

The primary purpose of this position is to Inspect the facilities and grounds for safety and security; identifies and reports hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to supervisor. Follows safe working practices and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required. Ability to performs custodial tasks. May assist with general machinery and building repair. Assists with planned maintenance schedule and work orders. Electrical and pneumatic troubleshooting. Maintenance crib and spare parts organization and inventory. Back-up for filling equipment set-up.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
  • Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices.
  • Order parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogs or suppliers.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations of the organization, including reporting hazards, incidents, or accidents.
  • Knowledge and understanding of how equipment works on site or must learn.
  • Problem solving skills to determine root cause of problem.
  • Ability to work with computer programs to track, document and monitor PM’s
  • Offers improvement ideas to supervisor
  • Other Duties as assigned

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Experience – 2 years’ experience in Manufacturing Facility Maintenance
  • Minimum Education – High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Intermediate proficiency reading assembly and blueprint drawings
  • Must have skilled trade experience in electric, plumbing, carpentry, welding & light equipment operation
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and accept direction as well as work alone and on their own. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred Experience – 2 years’ experience
  • Preferred Education - High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Proficient computer skills

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • The individual must possess good communication skills both verbally and written.
  •  Use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
  • The individual must have a good Customer Service oriented perceptiveness.
  • Able to make decisions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud (daily job duties).

Physical Location: This position operates in a manufacturing plant or hybrid office environment. 
 Teamwork: This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace.
 Listening Skills: This position will need to understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure all tasks are completed accurately.
 Ability to follow instructions: Managers assign tasks and responsibilities; this position should be able to follow instructions competently.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
