Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Specialist to join our team. As a Support Specialist, you will provide assistance and guidance to individuals in need of behavioral health support. Your role will involve crisis intervention, counseling, and mentoring to help individuals navigate through challenging situations.
Duties:
- Provide crisis intervention and support to individuals experiencing mental health or addiction-related crises
- Conduct assessments to determine the needs of individuals and develop personalized care plans
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower individuals and promote positive change
- Offer counseling and guidance to individuals struggling with mental health issues or addiction
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers and mental health counselors, to coordinate care for clients
- Assist individuals in accessing community resources and support systems
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Experience in behavioral health or related field is highly desirable
- Knowledge of crisis management techniques and intervention strategies
- Familiarity with mental health counseling principles and practices
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficiency in using computer systems for documentation purposes
