Summary:
Trailer Bridge is looking for an energetic, talented, and self-motivated go-getter to join our growing logistics team. You will be responsible for assisting with the execution, direction, and coordination of all intermodal matters across the company.
Essential Functions:
The Intermodal Operations and Sales will work with drayage carriers, the railroads, wholesale intermodal equipment providers, and beneficial cargo owners to transport commodities to/from shippers/receivers/intermodal rail terminals/and the ports.
Develop strong relationships with our carriers to deliver best in class service at competitive rates to our customers.
Develop strong relationships with our customers to facilitate growth in revenue and profitability for Trailer Bridge.
Negotiate rates with customers and carriers to increase revenue and decrease expenses.
Act as carrier and Subject Matter Expert across the organization.
Tender and track intermodal and drayage shipments to ensure on time pickup/delivery as well as proactively communicate issues to our customers/carriers.
Review shipment reports by lane, customer, carrier, equipment type and regions with an eye for pricing, costs, and service.
Monitor accessorial chargers accumulated by each shipment and reimbursement by customer.
Communicate with Freight Forwarders, Ports, Steamship Lines and Container Yards for planning and addressing shipping issues.
Properly evaluate capacities, safety risk, and services of drayage and intermodal carriers.
Negotiate rates, drayage capacities, establish carrier KPI’s, communicate carrier expectations, and report daily/weekly success to management.
Assist Commercial teams with rate calculations, supply chain modeling and commercial proposals.
Fully facilitate customer quarterly reviews.
Investigate and properly dispute invoices from Steam Ship Lines, Ports, Container Yards and others.
Develop a full working knowledge of Company TMS and champion adoption of best practices.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
1 year of proven experience in logistics with focus on intermodal and/or port drayage operations
Ability to connect with and coordinate between key customers and internal/external stakeholders to promote and expand business opportunities
Strong oral, written communications and presentation skills
Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications.
Exemplary communication skills both oral and written
