Trader Joe's is Hiring a Food Safety Manager Near Boston, MA
- Reviewing vendor food safety documentation and identifies non-conformities (i.e. FDA/USDA requirements and/or Trader Joe's expectations).
- All aspects of the Trader Joe's Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP).
- Conducting thorough review for new and existing vendors and their Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmarked audit for every site that processes, packs, stores, or distributes to a Trader Joe's Distribution Center location.
- Providing technical guidance for Category Managers and Product Developers on correctly interpreting and understanding vendor food safety and regulatory documentation to help identify potential problems during the product development process.
- Supporting the Customer Product Incident and Customer Relations teams when researching questions or potential food safety concerns.
- Working collaboratively with other departments.
- A minimum of 5 years in the food industry or related field, preferably working in a consumables manufacturer setting.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, FSMA Preventive Control Rules and Hazard Analysis and/or USDA food safety inspections standard with experience in the development or implementation of food manufacturing Food Safety Programs preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities, and strong attention to detail.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with a strong emphasis in collaboration with all levels of the company, vendors and customers.
