TPM Group is Hiring a Construction Project Manager Near Washington, DC

TPM Group is a Project Management Firm providing construction and relocation project management services to government and commercial clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager would be responsible for project oversight for the design and development of a major sanitation transfer station for a major public works agency. The Project Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Will be expected to provide day-to-day project management leadership for a large $100-$150 Million project for DPW. The project is for the design and development of a new Benning Road Transfer Station (BRTS), Current transfer station operations include recycling, trash, household hazardous waste, white goods, bulk, e-recycling, leaf storage, and citizen drop-off services. The BRTS is currently closed and requires demolition, remediation, and reconstruction of a new, modernized zero-waste campus.
  • All manner of customary Pre-construction, Construction and Close-Out project management activities.
  • Performs all duties as assigned including: procurement documentation, project correspondence, design review, permitting, and invoice payments
  • Review the construction contractor's monthly invoices
  • Attempt, through discussion, to resolve technical and/or procedural conflicts
  • Maintain logs of all clarifications requested by the contractor. Provide written notifications to the Design A/E's requesting design clarification, inform them of delays that may be caused, and advise them accordingly
  • Respond to situations or occurrences, which warrant a change order in an expeditious manner
  • Maintain current lists of observed defects and omissions and subsequent corrections
  • Monitor construction contractors, compliance with labor standards provisions
  • Confirm that as-built drawings are maintained by the construction contractor as required by their contract. Verify the accuracy and completeness of all as-built drawings, and assure that the contractor(s) maintains and updates the drawings on a regular basis and includes all actual locations and routing of services, all changes from the original documents, field changes, final details, actual dimensions, and other similar items on the drawings.
  • Review the Design A/E comments on shop drawings and samples submitted by the construction contractor during the construction phase and confirm that there is appropriate coordination so that shop drawing review comments are complied with by the contractor

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years industry experience and at least five as a PM
  • Preference is for PMs that have served in owners rep capacity
  • Experience working on public utilities and infrastructure projects is a plus, but not a prerequisite.
  • Experience working on projects in an urban setting and with Net Zero certification will also be a plus, but not a prerequisite.
  • Experience with government facilities construction projects preferred but not a prerequisite
  • Ability to handle multiple, demanding, and complex projects in a timely manner with accurate results
  • BS degree
  • Architect License or Engineer in Training (EIT), NCIDQ, or Professional Project Management Certifications preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $135,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
