TOWN OF GROTON is Hiring a Financial Assistant I (Accounting Division) Near Groton, CT

POSITION: Financial Assistant I

Finance Department, Accounting Division

Full-time, 35 hours per week

STARTING RATE: $26.82/hour

POSITION RANGE: $26.82-$30.82/hour

POSITION OVERVIEW & REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The skills and knowledge required would generally be acquired with a high school education with course work in Commercial Arithmetic or Bookkeeping and 4 years of responsible clerical bookkeeping

experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree in lieu of experience or an Associate’s Degree with 2 years’ experience.

The following experience is preferred: operation of financial and/or purchasing software, processing and responsible decision making with accounts payable and receivable, experience in reconciliation, and

coursework or training in accounting or bookkeeping.
