POSITION: Youth Organizer – Go Groton

Part-time, up to 12 hours per week

Summer 2024 - Fall 2025

SALARY: $35.00 per hour

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Get Outdoors (GO) Groton team is a strong partnership between the Groton Public Schools, the Town of Groton, and the Groton Open Space Association with a focus on collaboration to increase outdoor access to school-age children in Groton. The Youth Organizer will plan, participate, and facilitate community engagement strategies in collaboration with Youth Leaders and the GO Groton Team to assess and address childhood health and well-being as well as climate resilience and environmental stewardship.

REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will be passionate or curious about nature, outdoor recreation, and climate resilience. Must be comfortable talking with a diverse audience in both formal and informal settings, work well in team settings and independently, possess strong leadership skills and possess excellent communication skills. Experience with youth engagement, leadership development, coaching, teaching, camp counseling, community outreach, communication, marketing and civic engagement. Knowledge of social and environmental justice, equity and inclusion, education, benefits of outdoor recreation. Bilingual, preferred.
