TOWN OF CASTLE ROCK is Hiring a Golf Pro Shop Attendant Near Castle Rock, CO

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists with facility opening procedures
  • Greets customers and provides customer service by answering basic questions and responding to basic concerns regarding play and services available at the course in person and over the phone
  • Ensures proper check-in, collects fees from golfers, and assigns tee times; Sells range balls, merchandise, and rental equipment; Operates the cash register and Point of Sale (POS) software; Makes proper change and counts cash receipts at the end of each day
  • Assists with tournament set-up and operations; Creates signage, provides name tags and range balls, and helps customers with gift certificate redemptions; Leads playing groups to their tee-off hole and assists with scoring the event upon completion
  • Ensures consistency in play with the starter sheet
  • Assists with inventory control of merchandise; Responsible for maintaining the golf shop in a clean, orderly and fully stocked condition
  • Assists with facility closing procedures; Complete golf shop closing checklist; Ensures all closing duties for outside services are complete
  • May assist in the annual Junior Golf Academy classes
  • May help train new Golf Shop Attendants
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required 

Minimum Qualifications:

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Education: High School Diploma or GEDExperience: Six (6) months’ outside service operation experience; or six months’ customer service experience that includes cash handling and familiarity with golf; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Effective oral communication skills for following instructions and answering customer questions in person and via phone
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Knowledge of basic math skills
  • Skill in operating a cash register 

Physical Demands:

  • Sedentary work for long periods of time
  • Occasional physical work lifting no more than 10 pounds 
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, walking and standing
  • Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Frequent hand/eye coordination to operate personal computer and office equipment
  • Vision for reading, recording and interpreting information
  • Speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and citizens

Work Environment:

  • Works primarily in a clean, comfortable environment

Equipment Used:

  • Uses general modern office equipment, to include, keyboard, 10-key adding machines, and telephones 
  • This position may require the incumbent to occasionally use personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone, tools, etc.) in the course of their employment

Must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check prior to commencing employment.
