Town of Breckenridge is Hiring a Water Backflow Administrator - Summer Seasonal Near Breckenridge, CO

The Town of Breckenridge Public Works Department is seeking a dedicated and customer service-oriented individual for the position of Water Backflow Administrator - Summer Seasonal. This position requires technical, administrative, and technological skills in both the office and the field pertaining to backflow/cross-connections prevention, identification, and correction.
The incumbent will be responsible for administering a comprehensive backflow control program which will include communications, compliance identification and tracking, and reporting and recording of various connections. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older. 
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
  • A valid Colorado Driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record is required prior to operating any Town-owned vehicles.
  • Colorado ASSE Backflow Tester Certification desired. 
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
  • Previous experience working in Public Works preferred.
  • Previous experience with water systems preferred. 
  • Experience in water distribution, water treatment, GIS/GPS, plumbing, or facility maintenance operations desired.
  • Knowledge of principles of hydraulics in pipes and potential causes of backflow preferred. 
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, techniques, and terminology used in the implementation and enforcement of cross-connection control desired. 
  • Knowledge of geography and street locations of the Town and the Town's water service area preferred.
Hiring Pay Range: $21.50 - $22.75 per hour. 
WORK SCHEDULE:
The work schedule for this position varies, up to 40 hours per week or as needed at the discretion of management. Individuals in this position must be flexible in terms of availability, and may on occasion be required to work other shifts as needed, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
