What a Restaurant Server will do:
- Greets guests and presents them with the menu.
- Informs guests about the special items for the day and menu changes if any.
- Suggests food and beverages to the guest and also tries to upsell.
- Takes food and beverage orders from the guest on the order taking pads or on the handheld Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Obtains revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments, returning the change.
- Performs basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
- Punches the order on the POS machine and make sure to enter the special requirements made by the guest while ordering the food. E.g.: No Garlic, less spicy, without egg, etc.
- Communicates to the guest and provide assistance with their queries.
- Coordinates with the host, kitchen staff, and bar staff to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
- Serves food and beverage to the guest as per the course of order.
- Promptly responds to guest with any additional request.
- Maintains proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
- Properly opens and pours wine at the tableside.
- Adheres to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
- Understands and can communicate products and services available at the restaurant.
- Must have some familiarity with basic cooking skills.
- Assists host with stocking and maintaining the restaurant stock levels and side station.
- Helps other areas of the restaurant such as answering telephones and completing financial transactions.
- Prints closing report and drops the cash with the Restaurant Manager.
- Tallies the credit card settlements for the day with the batch closing report from EDC machine.
- Closes the shift on the POS terminal.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in similar Job role.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- We are looking for part-time and full-time Restaurant Servers (20 - 40 hours per week).
- We are open Tuesday through Saturday.
- Schedule: Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday 5pm-10pm.
- Pay is $8 per hour plus tips!
