Role Summary: Responsible for managing the overall technical and process direction of the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). Lead all internal security operations tasks and management of the Columbus GSOC, Coordinate 24/7/365 security event situational awareness. Responsible for the overall technical and process direction of the Columbus GSOC will report to the GSOC Director. Essential Functions: Ensure that Service Level Agreements are defined, tracked and met across the SOC service offerings Develop and support strategic plans and projects to meet GSOC goals and objectives Determine staffing requirements: guides recruiting, hiring, training, development, and retention of highly qualified team members Responsible for driving execution of daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for statistical threats and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Maintain awareness of trends in security regulatory, technology, and operational requirements Mentor and guide GSOC Lead and Analysts and perform knowledge transfer to other teams as required Responsible for security analysis, administration and remediation procedures, workflows and tasks Be a leader in the expansion and growth of the SOC; drive integration of new products and services Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures are being created and followed by the team Identifies opportunities to improve security monitoring and operational tasks Evaluate existing SIEM rules, filters, events and use cases and adapt to meet the business requirements Work with outside teams in the development of a comprehensive set of operational security policies and standards designed to permit the organization to achieve its business objectives while effectively managing our security and compliance requirements of meeting PCI and SOX goals. Identifies opportunities to improve security monitoring and operational tasks Assist in implementation of new SOC tools and applications and processes. Not an exhaustive list; other duties as assigned. Key Skills and Compentencies: Experience managing a security operations center In-depth familiarity with security policies based on industry standards and best practices Expert knowledge of SIEM technologies, like Splunk ES, ArcSight, vendor specific certifications strongly preferred Experience in designing and building security and/or network operations centers Incident management process development and/or incident management experience 4 years working within the information security field, with emphasis on security operations, incident management, intrusion detection, firewall deployment, and security event analysis 2 years experience in a leadership position Experience with security device installations, configuration and troubleshooting (e.g., firewall, IDS, etc.) Ability to lead and communicate efficiently within a team environment Great customer service skills. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, Industry experience in Security Operations Center management and SIEM operations Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Spunk Power User, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Global Payments Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
