The Technical Procurement position is a critical part of the Operations team driving the purchasing and vendor management as well as supporting general Operations functions. This position requires a solid understanding of the sales order process and drives order fulfillment to ensure on time delivery to customers while ensuring all procedures and processes are followed. The successful candidate requires only general supervision, ability to multitask and work independently to achieve the position goals. Strong communication skills with both external and internal customers and vendors is necessary as well as strong organizational skills are required to ensuring work is accurate and able to meet established deadlines

Key job responsibilities:

• Point person for TOPTICA Photonics, Inc. purchasing. Office, lab supplies, production materials, etc.
• Ensure continuous supply of required optical components goods and materials and communicate any supply problems. which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
• Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible. Runs reports to determine production material requirements.
• Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price. Works closely with vendors and internal team to source alternative vendors and/or items which, with approval, maximize value to TOPTICA Photonics, Inc.
• Lead bid process / recommend vendors.
• Verifies purchase requisitions, ensures proper sign off.
• Authorizes payment by forwarding accurate receiving documentation.
• Drive annual review of existing vendors, reliability, pricing, service etc.
• Cross trains to support Order Processing on an as needed basis
• Special projects as required
• Other duties as assigned

Required skills:

• 2 to 5 years of Supply Chain/Operations experience in photonic manufacturing environment
• Must be able to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• High degree of business ethics and accountability
• Strong business and financial acumen
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
• Proficient with ERP systems/Microsoft Navision or Microsoft Dynamics
• Effective in both written and verbal communications
• Occasional lifting to 25 lbs.
• All employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
• Unrestricted right to work in United States required

Qualifications and Competencies requirements:

• Associate degree in business administration and 1-2 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience purchasing optical and photonics materials preferred.
• Experience in logistics processes in a high-tech, photonics environment is a plus.
