TOPS Staffing is currently looking to hire a General Laborer/Machine Operator for a direct hire opportunity with a client in the Harmarville area of Pittsburgh. This position is in a manufacturing/ production fabrication shop environment.
In this role you will be tasked with performing a combination of material handling utilizing an overhead crane, machine operation, and finishing work utilizing a cement mixture.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience performing the above duties, however if you have any experience doing finish drywall, laying tile, or masonry work we have found it transitions well into this position.
Job Details:

• Direct hire opportunity
• Starting pay rate for this position is $22.75per hour
• Steady daylight shift
• Hours: 6:30am to 3pm schedule Monday to Friday OT on occasional Saturday.
• Some overtime is available in this position, may include weekend work when needed

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Material handling – Utilizing and overhead crane
• Machine operation – Loading, operating and unloading of machine.
• Mixing specialized cement slurry used in production process.
• Applying cement lining onto and into products
• Must be ok with working in confined spaces, you will be required to climb inside of large tanks to line the inside of them with cement.
• Other general labor duties as assigned by management

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Prior material handling experience
• Prior machine operation experience in production facility is preferred
• Overhead crane operation experience is preferred but not required
• Experience working with and mixing one of the following or something similar to cement, grout (tile finishing), or drywall mud.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing
• Working in confined spaces - Inside of large metal tanks
• Bend, crawl, kneel, and sometimes climb to preform work
• Must be ok working in a non-tempered building environment.
