Job Title: Medical Assistant (MA) Instructor

Position Reports to: Director

Position Summary and Expectations: The MA instructor is responsible for providing instruction to MA students enrolled in the MA program. The instructor must have the ability to provide engaging and quality training to students. Must be familiar with
PowerPoint and audio-visual equipment. Also, possess knowledge in efficient instructional methods and techniques in the class, laboratory and clinical setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain a concise and accurate record of student academic and attendance performance.
• Submits academic and attendance performance to the Director in a timely manner.
• Maintains a supportive and cooperative working environment with staff, faculty, clinical sites and students.
• Communicates effectively with staff, faculty, education partners and students.
• Remains updated with state regulation and new practice standards.
• Accountable for the prudent use of teaching supplies and materials.
• Responsible for notifying the Director of defective or low in quantity equipment.
• Participates in the developing and implementation of the program objectives and lesson plan.
• Evaluates the technical, social and knowledge based skills of the students in the class, laboratory and clinical setting at regular intervals to measure performance standards.
• Plans, organizes and implements the training experience for students in the class, laboratory and clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High diploma/GED required but an associate’s degree is preferred.
• A national medical assistant certification is required.
• Possess five years of medical assisting experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Proficient in the use of computers and audio-visual equipment.
• Possess interpersonal skills favorable to teamwork.
• Patience, tact, friendly disposition, a love of students, passion for education, enthusiasm, energy, and developed communication skills are a must.
• Possess strong administrative, laboratory and clinical medical assisting skills.
