Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated, passionate and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our legal team. Our law firm is a full-service law firm practicing Criminal, Family, Personal Injury and Civil Litigation. As an Associate Attorney, you will be responsible for handling a caseload of 30 to 40 cases and assisting the firm partners as needed. This is a full-time position for a serious, young attorney looking to gain courtroom and trial experience.
The attorney will work out of our Dallas office but may be required to travel to central and east Texas at times for court appearances.
Duties:
- Conduct legal research using various resources
- Draft legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and appeal briefs
- Conduct and assist with negotiations and settlements
- Prepare and review legal correspondence
- Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations and depositions
- Collaborate with firm partners on complex cases
- Provide legal advice to clients
- Maintain accurate and organized case files
Skills:
- Strong research skills to gather relevant information and analyze legal issues
- Excellent negotiation skills to reach favorable outcomes for clients
- Proficient in legal administrative tasks, including document management and case organization
- Exceptional writing skills to draft clear and concise legal documents
- Familiarity with legal drafting techniques and terminology
- Proficient in using Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw for legal research
- Ability to litigate cases effectively in court
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Texas State Bar
- Ideal for a first or second-year attorney
