- Acts as liaison between the Toho Water Authority contractors, engineers and property owners on construction projects and construction inspection.
- Responds to inspection requests and coordinates inspections and other activities with local and state organizations.
- Reviews construction project requirements, costs and issues with project managers.
- Participates in job meetings with project team to gather required information.
- Represents Toho Water Authority in meetings with engineers and contractors as required.
- Provides daily inspection reports to project managers.
- Documents and complies with regulations by ensuring conformance with approved construction documents; maintaining reports; documenting project construction tests; ensuring accuracy of charge order submittals; submitting noncompliance notices; and maintaining construction activity reports.
- Tracks progress of construction projects; calculates and records quantities or materials used and computes contractor work in progress for progress payments; drafts and maintains files of daily inspection reports and project activities.
- Handling emergency situations by locating valves; communicating with field operations; and flushing repaired pipelines. Ensures proper placement and maintenance of signs, barricades and warning devices; ensures proper safety practices are followed at work sites.
- May serve as the back up to Senior Inspector and/or other positions in their short-term absence.
- All other duties as assigned.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED issued from an approved GED Administrator.
- A minimum of three years of utility, construction, and or inspection of utility infrastructure experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class E Driver's License.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk to a significant degree; use hands to operate tools or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to pull, push, kneel, bend, squat, crawl, and twist. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Environmental factors include outdoor conditions; rugged terrain, slippery surfaces, varying weather, including, heat, cold, dry, wet weather. In addition, noise, darkness, brightness, vibrations, traffic, biological agents, chemicals, gas/ fumes, magnetic fields, or congested area. Environmental factors include indoor, flat surface, noise, sitting with occasionally walking and standing.
