Key responsibilities include supervising accounts receivable staff; recording and reconciling financial transactions; analyzing financial data; preparing schedules and reports; assisting in financial audits; and providing additional support to the Comptroller as needed. Other duties may include reconciling bank statements, payroll processing, unclaimed property management, training employees, providing backup for other accounting functions, and miscellaneous other tasks as needed. This individual will have excellent supervisory and problem-solving skills, and demonstrate a strong foundation in accounting principles with the ability to apply them to real world scenarios.Essential FunctionsStaff Supervision: Lead accounts receivable staff to achieve peak performance through implementing best practices within the framework of Toho policy and culture. Provide guidance, coaching, and training as needed. Motivate staff and support professional growth. Accounts Receivable : Process customer payments, account adjustments, and refunds in a timely and accurate manner in compliance with accounting standards and Toho policy. Implement best practices and identify opportunities for process improvement. Customer Service : Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. Documentation : Maintain accurate and detailed records to comply with record retention statutes and support Toho's annual external audit. Collaboration : Work collaboratively with internal staff, the Customer Service department, multiple third-party payment processors, and Toho's bank to achieve organizational goals. Compliance : Analyze financial transactions for conformance with GAAP and Toho policy. Ensure adherence to internal control requirements and accounting principles in all activities. Financial Analysis : Perform financial analysis of accounting data and contribute insights to management decision-making. Record Keeping : Organize and manage records for A/R, facilitating accurate and efficient financial reporting. Maintain miscellaneous schedules and reconciliations. Reporting : Generate regular reports on A/R and other activity, providing insights into financial health. Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvements in A/R and other areas, contributing to operational efficiency. Communication : Effectively communicate with both accounting and non-accounting staff and professionals in a clear and transparent manner. All other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsAny combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain that required qualification would be:A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field. Minimum of six years relevant experience that includes at least two years of supervisory experience Equivalent combinations of education and experience that demonstrate the ability to perform the role will be considered.
