The Assistant Floor Manager will be responsible for driving daily sales at our Portland location. This person's day will be primarily customer focused and will be responsible for overseeing daily sales and motivating the sales team to meet projections. They will be a leader within our team.

The right candidate is self motivated, has excellent attention to detail and is experienced in a retail apparel sales position. They should have the ability to clearly communicate store and staff needs to leadership. This person will have strong problem-solving and communication skills.

This position will be based in our Portland, Maine location, although travel will occasionally be necessary.

Responsibilities:

● Lead day-to-day store operations

● Plan and lead Toad&Co as well as, 3rd party brand training

● Being sales focused and leading by example on the sales floor

● Meet with the store manager to discuss goals, successes, and areas of opportunities

● Opening and closing the store

Qualifications:

• Retail experience, hopefully in the clothing and/or outdoor industry, is preferred
• Leadership experience preferred. Must be comfortable in a leadership role. Able to be “in charge” when other leadership is not available.
• Must be a solution oriented problem-solver and approach challenges with a positive attitude. Comfortable jumping right in and contributing ideas.
• Able to take general guidelines and turn them into action.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in group settings.
• Display an entrepreneurial mindset and interest in the broader business development of the store.
• Must love the outdoors, whether it's camping, climbing a mountain, or enjoying a drink on the patio.
• Able to stand/walk for extended periods of time, necessary to provide sales floor coverage related to customer service and loss prevention. Able to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry product, necessary for customer service, inventory re-stock and store merchandising. Comfortable climbing ladders.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
