Porthole is Hiring a Floor Manager Near Portland, ME

Position Overview:

The Porthole is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Floor Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all floor activities, including customer service, staff supervision, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional leader with a passion for hospitality and the ability to thrive in a high-stress environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the General Manager with training and staff development.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and guidelines to maximize guest satisfaction and profitability.
  • Possess and demonstrate excellent guest service skills.
  • Create a professional and enjoyable working environment.
  • Manage high-stress situations and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to cover various shifts as needed.
  • Lead and train staff, ensuring operational excellence.
  • Assist with financial management tasks such as record keeping and bank deposits.
  • Oversee orders, inventory, and the POS system.
  • Step in to cover staffing needs and support during peak periods.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Capable of ascending steps and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Education & Certification:

  • No specific educational requirements.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of guest service and restaurant operations.
